Professional Window Tinting in Jacksonville, FL

Experience a cooler, more private, and safer ride with professional window tinting from Precision Wraps Jax. We use premium ceramic and carbon films that are specifically designed to handle the intense Florida sun. In a city where summer temps push past 95 degrees and the sun beats down from March through October, quality window tint is not a luxury — it’s a necessity.

Benefits of Window Tinting

  • Heat Reduction: Block up to 99% of infrared heat, keeping your car significantly cooler during hot Jacksonville summers. Less heat means less AC strain and better fuel economy.
  • UV Protection: Protect your skin and your car’s interior from harmful UV rays that cause fading, cracking, and premature aging.
  • Privacy & Security: Keep your belongings out of sight and enjoy a more private driving experience whether you’re parked at the Town Center or cruising down Beach Blvd.
  • Glare Reduction: Improve visibility and reduce eye strain by cutting down on harsh sunlight and headlight glare — especially helpful for the morning commute on I-95 or JTB.
  • Shatter Resistance: Window film holds glass together in the event of an accident or break-in, adding a layer of safety.

Florida Tint Law

Florida has specific regulations on window tint darkness, and we make sure every install is compliant:

  • Front Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line (the top strip).
  • Front Side Windows: Must allow at least 28% of visible light transmission (VLT). This is the legal minimum — we’ll help you go as dark as the law allows.
  • Rear Side Windows: Any darkness is permitted. Go as dark as you want.
  • Rear Window: Any darkness is permitted, as long as the vehicle has side mirrors.
  • Reflectivity: Front and rear side windows cannot be more than 25% reflective.
  • Headlight/Taillight Tint: Not legal in Florida. We do not tint headlights or taillights.

We stay up to date on Florida tint law so you don’t get pulled over or fail inspection. Every vehicle leaves our shop within legal limits unless you specifically request otherwise for off-road or show vehicles.

Shade Guide

Understanding VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentages helps you choose the right darkness for your needs:

  • 50% VLT — Light shade, subtle UV and heat reduction. Popular for front windshield strips.
  • 35% VLT — Medium shade, good privacy with a factory-tint look. A popular all-around choice.
  • 28% VLT — The darkest legal shade for front side windows in Florida. Strong heat rejection with solid privacy.
  • 20% VLT — Dark shade, popular for rear windows. Excellent privacy and heat rejection.
  • 15% VLT — Very dark. Common for rear windows on trucks and SUVs.
  • 5% VLT (Limo Tint) — Near-blackout privacy. Legal only on rear and back windows in Florida.

Not sure which shade is right for you? We have sample strips at our shop so you can see exactly how each percentage looks on glass before committing.

Ceramic vs. Carbon vs. Dyed Film

  • Ceramic Tint — The premium choice. Uses nano-ceramic particles to block heat without darkening the glass as much. Superior heat rejection, zero signal interference with GPS, Bluetooth, or cellular. Will not fade or turn purple over time. This is what we recommend for Florida drivers.
  • Carbon Tint — Strong heat rejection with a rich, matte-black finish. Does not interfere with electronics. A great mid-range option that looks sharp and performs well.
  • Dyed Film — The most affordable option. Provides privacy and glare reduction but offers less heat rejection than ceramic or carbon. Can fade to purple over time in intense sun exposure.

We install ceramic tint on the majority of our vehicles because it delivers the best long-term performance in Florida’s climate. If budget is a concern, we’ll help you find the right balance of performance and price.

Interior Protection

Window tint does more than keep you cool — it protects everything inside your vehicle:

  • Dashboard Cracking: Constant UV exposure causes dashboards to crack, warp, and fade. Tint blocks 99% of UV rays.
  • Leather & Upholstery Fading: Leather seats, vinyl surfaces, and fabric upholstery all degrade faster without UV protection. This is especially true in Jacksonville, where your car bakes in the sun 9+ months of the year.
  • Electronics: Excessive heat damages phone mounts, GPS units, and dash cameras left in parked vehicles. Tint reduces cabin temps by up to 60%.

Vehicles & Applications

  • Cars & Sedans — Full tint packages with shade matching from front to rear
  • Trucks & SUVs — Large glass areas benefit the most from ceramic heat rejection
  • Jeeps & Convertibles — Tint for hardtops, freedom panels, and removable windows
  • Commercial Vehicles — Vans, fleet trucks, and work vehicles for driver comfort and cargo privacy
  • Boats & Marine — Windshield and cabin glass tinting for glare and heat reduction on the water

Quality Installation

Our installers use precision-cut patterns and advanced application techniques to ensure a bubble-free, edge-to-edge finish that lasts. We take the extra time to clean every window surface thoroughly, trim with precision, and heat-shrink the film to conform to curved glass — no creases, no fingers, no gaps. Every tint job comes with a manufacturer warranty for your peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is your window tint legal in Florida?

We offer a range of tint shades and will guide you on the legal limits for side and rear windows in Florida to ensure your vehicle remains compliant.

What is the benefit of ceramic tint over standard film?

Ceramic tint offers superior heat rejection (blocking up to 99% of infrared heat) and UV protection without interfering with electronics, GPS, or cellular signals.

How long should I wait to roll down my windows after tinting?

We recommend keeping your windows rolled up for at least 3-5 days to allow the film to fully cure and bond to the glass.

How much does window tinting cost?

Window tinting pricing depends on the type of film, the number of windows, and the vehicle. A standard ceramic tint for a sedan typically ranges from $250 to $500. Trucks and SUVs with more glass area cost more. We offer free quotes — stop by or call us to get an exact price for your vehicle.

Do you tint commercial buildings?

Our primary focus is automotive and marine window tinting. For commercial building tint, we can refer you to a trusted local partner who specializes in flat glass applications. Feel free to ask us for a recommendation.
